FRM Solutions’ Tips to make the most of IFA 2020
We hope you are as excited about us for IFA coming up in just 3 weeks! We especially welcome those of you from the colder states to enjoy the balmy southern weather for a few days.
- Be sure to post on your social feeds now that you’ll be attending #IFA2020. We suggest sharing any blocks of time you have for coffee/ drinks and even set up a calendly.com link (free) to streamline networking. You can create just your specific slots of availability and it’s free and easy to use.
Pro tip: Ask everyone you meet with if they can introduce you to someone else at the conference.
- Create your aspirational schedule ahead of time and put it into your Outlook calendar and note the local time in the Event Title of your meetings and sessions. Nothing is worse than a missed connection due to time zone confusion. Download the Event App, and personalize your agenda (consider Focus Tracks) – also add it to your personal calendar ahead of time to make sure you keep your top sessions and meetings a priority.
Pro tip: Research the session speakers ahead of time and read their recent blogs or LI activity.
- Set up your profile in the Event App. See #1 for networking. Setting up your profile in the event app will allow you to see others and make yourself available. We also recommend putting together a Cheat Sheet to have handy for all of your first- time introductions.
Pro tip: Get mobile numbers if you can, for a quick ‘I’m here wearing a blue jacket’ text before your meet up with a new contact.
- Hang out in the common areas and keep your badge visible. Every venue seems to have a central location where people congregate during long breaks and before dinner, usually the lobby bar/lobby seating. Try to spend at least one break or happy hour there and we promise you’ll end up in a spontaneous and interesting conversation.
Pro tip: Remember Florida is famous for its prolific use of Air Conditioning. This is your reminder to bring layers to switch between artic indoors and sunny outdoors.
- Make sure you take time to come say hello to the FRM Team at Booth 911!
Our team will be at the conference starting Sat, Feb 8 until the show closes on Tuesday. Shoot us a note on Linked In and we look forward to seeing you there!
